OCAF Middle Childhood Art Workshops

The Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation is pleased to announce a series of workshops for the middle childhood age, 6 to 12 years old,

OCAF welcomes back Casey Daniel, a returning instructor. Casey has taught several summer art camps and workshops here at OCAF. She is currently completing her degree in Art Education from the University of North Georgia and gaining experience teaching art in the public school system.

The workshop are on various Saturday mornings for the next six months.

Workshop Descriptions

These workshops are geared towards children ages 6-12.

Saturday, January 15: Mini-Me 2-D Dolls

In this workshop, we will make paper dolls, room signs, and beaded bracelets.

Saturday, February 12: Valentine’s Day Card

In this workshop, we will make our own pop-up Valentine’s Day cards for the special ones in our lives.

Saturday, March 12: Mosaic Tiles

In this workshop, we will make our own mosaic tiles out of plaster of paris and mosiac glass. We will have to wear gloves to keep our fingers safe!

Saturday, April 16: Mosaic Collage (PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DATE FROM APRIL 23)

In this workshop we will make a beautiful mosaic collage of a tree. 

Saturday, May 14: Pinata Decorating

To celebrate Hispanic heritage month, we will be decorating our own pre-made pinatas!

Saturday, June 11: Mason Jar Snow Globes

In this workshop, we will make our own beachy snow globes!

Each workshop is limited to 10 students.

    Casey Daniel is a Junior at the University of North Georgia, majoring in Art Education (K-12). She is an Athens native born and raised. She has over 5 years of experience working with children of all ages in the Athens and Winder area. She has been passionate about art her entire life and wants to share that passion with her students for years to come.
