Beginners Wheel Summer 2023
Day/Dates: Mondays, June 12 – July 17 , 2023
Time: 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Length: 6 Weeks / 2.5 Hours per Week
Age: 16+
Level: Beginner to Intermediate
Class Fee: $200 members/$250 non-members
Materials Fee: $35
Class Description:
Wheel Throwing:
This class is for people who have limited experience on the wheel or who want to improve their throwing techniques. Projects will include cylinders, bowls, mugs, and bottle forms. We will explore how to use different surface decoration techniques such as slip trailing, paper stencils, and wax resist while learning the basics of successful glazing.

INSTRUCTOR
Bethany Hamilton-Jones has been working in clay for over twenty years after stumbling upon a college elective course and getting hooked! She enjoys producing functional pottery that incorporates multiple surface decoration techniques. Bethany has been teaching at Good Dirt Clay Studios for three years where her teaching philosophy of “practice, not perfect” has successfully guided new and returning students to learn skills while exploring their individual creativity. Bethany’s work has been included in local craft shows such as Indie South and OCAF Holiday Show.
