UNG/OCAF Reciprocal Exhibition: Call for Art
August 1, 2021 @ 12:00 am - September 24, 2021 @ 11:59 pm
| FreeCALL FOR ART
Calling all OCAF members,
This academic year we are celebrating 50 years of the visual arts at the University of North Georgia. The relationship that has developed between UNG and the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation has been crucial to our recent growth. We want to celebrate that relationship with a juried exhibition this Fall.
This version of Reciprocal will celebrate the importance of relationships. It seems that this past year has shown all of us how vital our relationships are – our relationships with people, nature, pets, and communities we have created. Any interpretation of that theme is welcome as long as it is a celebratory one.
This year’s juror is Georgia native, Kristen Miller Zohn who lives and works in Columbus, Georgia, where she is the Executive Director of the Costume Society of America. She also serves as Curator of Collections and Exhibitions for the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art in Laurel, Mississippi, which houses a collection of European and American art, Native American baskets, British Georgian silver, and Japanese woodblock prints.
Artists selected for the exhibition must be current OCAF members. Approximately 20 artworks will be selected. Giclee prints and photographs on canvas or metal will not be accepted. Due to limitations in our display furniture, no jewelry will be accepted. All wall-mounted works should be framed and ready to hang with a wire.
Submissions will begin August 1 and close on September 24, 2021 at 11:59. Artists selected will be notified via email by October 13.
The University will send each artist chosen to the exhibition a loan agreement which must be signed and returned within 1 week. The application can be found following this link: https://ung.edu/art-galleries/ocaf-exhibit.php The exhibition will be on view November 1 – November 26 with a reception TBD.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at Victoria.cooke@ung.edu. We look forward to seeing your work!
