In this special artist talk, Rebecca will share the stories, inspirations, and creative turning points behind more than five decades of work. She'll guide guests through the eras represented in the exhibition and offer a closer look at the work and the experiences that shaped her artistic journey. Come hear Rebecca reflect on a lifetime of bringing art, nature, and everyday beauty together.

10:30am - Behind the Scenes: Rebecca Wood Studio Tour in Athens, Georgia - Free!
Step inside R.Wood Studio and discover where each piece begins. Celebrating 35 years of handmade pottery, Rebecca Wood will guide guests through the studio's history, production spaces, and the process behind her work as both an artist and a business owner. Meet the team of artists who continue the studio's tradition of crafting each piece by hand, and follow the journey of a pot from clay to kiln to the retail shelves. Along the way, you'll gain an inside look at the people, processes, and craftsmanship that have defined R.Wood Studio for more than three decades. The tour concludes with time to browse and shop the studio's well-stocked retail space, located inside the historic Georgia Drive warehouse

1pm - Ikebana Demonstration: The Art of Arrangement - Free!
Join us in the gallery and discover the connection between Rebecca Wood's handmade, wood-fired vases and the ancient art of Ikebana, the Japanese practice of floral arrangement. Through this special demonstration, Rebecca shares the history, philosophy, and principles behind Ikebana, offering insight into the thoughtful relationship between flowers, nature, and the ceramic forms created to hold them.

10am - Homeschool Art Explorers with Ceramic Artist Margo McCoy
Explore the art in OCAF’s galleries with a self-led scavenger hunt, enjoy an artist talk + Q&A with Margo McCoy, watch a live demo of her throwing pottery on the wheel, & create your own clay keepsake during a hand building activity. Recommended for ages 5 and above.
FREE for OCAF members, $10 per family for non-members. All ages, individuals and groups welcome.

Get the first look! 51 of the top potters from across Georgia will display their work in a huge pottery exhibition and sale at OCAF
51 of the top potters from across Georgia will display their work during Pottery Perspectives 2026, a huge exhibition and sale on view in the Oconee Cultural Art Foundation’s (OCAF) 1902 building & Rocket Hall.
The event kicks off with our Preview Reception on Friday, August 21, from 6pm until 9pm. Admission gives you a VIP first look to purchase pottery before the show is open to the public and includes food from Farm 441, drinks from Athentic Brewing, live music, art & community! Parking is free.
