  • Latex or Rubber Gloves (if wanted)
  • Dress for cold outdoors (layers suggested)
  • Bring your favorite holiday cookies to share (optional)

Class Description:

Cyanotypes are one of the oldest photographic printing processes in the history of photography. In this safe and fun chemical process, the ultraviolet light from the sun “exposes” images, creating beautiful cyan shades. It was mastered and popularized by Anna Atkins who used the method to print botanical and textile specimens, which are still some of most common themes in cyanotyping today.

Join us for an afternoon workshop where we will create one of a kind, Cyanotype holiday greeting cards and gift tags. Bring your favorite holiday cookies to share, and sit back, relax, and get crafty!

Instructor
InstructorLybi Cucurullo
Lybi Cucurullo is a conceptual artist, largely influenced by her background in mathematics. She uses a wide range of different media – including sculpture, drawing, installation, photography, and video – all addressing the overarching concept of time and cycles.

Lybi received her Bachelors in Science from the University of Central Florida in 2011, and her Masters in Fine Arts from CUNY Brooklyn college in 2019. She was an artist in residence at the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild in Woodstock, NY in 2019, and A.I.R. Studio in Paducah, Kentucky in 2019 and again in 2022. She has shown in numerous group shows in Brooklyn, Norfolk, Paducah, and throughout the Hudson Valley, and was an adjunct instructor at Brooklyn College. She is currently the adjunct Professor of Arts at the Georgia Military College, Madison.
