Level: Some Previous Painting Experience Required

L. Adams Discovering Abstraction Supplies List

Location: OCAF School Street Studios

Class Description:

Have you ever had an interest in abstract painting? Would you like to paint with more freedom and expression?

This Course:

  • answers the question, “what is abstraction?”
  • strengthens and develops your voice as a painter and fosters risk taking
  • applies new approaches and techniques to your current practive

Includes plenty of exercises geared towards helping you think outside the box, presentations, demos, individual instruction and group discussion.

Open to watercolor, acrylic and water soluble oil painters .

NOTE: for the painter with some previous painting experience. The focus of this class will be primarily composition, materiality, and personal expression.

About the instructor:

Lauren Adams is a southern artist and native of rural, middle Georgia. She has explored and experimented with painting and drawing most of her life. Inspired by her southern roots and the natural world, her work runs the gamut from figurative, to landscape and beyond.
