Fiction/Memoir, Making a Scene:

Fiction/Memoir Writing Workshop with Heidi Lynn Nilsson: February 20 to April 23

Each upcoming 5-week 2024 course will concentrate on an individual aspect of Fiction/Memoir, i.e. Character Development, Dialogue, etc.

Have you been working on a novel or memoir and you’re dying for someone to read some of it? Or have you been wanting to write but you don’t know where to start? Do you crave support and inspiration in your writing life? This course is for you! This spring, we’ll focus on your writing. Prompts will be designed to inspire creativity and lessons will be inspired by the pieces you submit. You’ll generate pages, sharpen your storytelling skills, and see your existing work through the eyes of compassionate, engaged readers. A whole community of writers awaits, ready to support and nurture you. Join us!

INSTRUCTOR

Heidi Lynn Nilsson
Heidi Lynn NilssonInstructor
Heidi Lynn Nilsson holds a BA from the University of Virginia and an MFA in Writing from Washington University in St. Louis. She is the author of two poetry collections, “For the Fire from the Straw,” and “The Math of Gifts.” Her poems have appeared in many journals and anthologies, including Ploughshares, TriQuarterly, American Poet, The New Young American Poets anthology, and the New Voices anthology from The Academy of American Poets. She lives in Oconee County with her husband and three daughters.
