They were imported from Europe by the early settlers to this country. Since their arrival in the early 1600s honeybees have become an integral part of our ecology and our economy. Today honeybees (and all our other native bees and butterflies) are being stressed by new chemical and biological challenges. Pesticides and herbicides are killing some bees and weakening others. OCAF Art Center 34 School Street, Watkinsville, GA, United StatesSense of Touch: Fiber Arts by Shirley Chambliss Sense of Touch Sense of Fiber Sense of Fun This installation will be an experimental one that opens the minds of viewers to the many ways of fiber and hand woven art. The show will be an experience of the uniqueness of living with fiber-- of the joy that comes from being intentional about what seems ordinary which makes them extraordinary. The focus of the show is the fun of these objects -- loving and living with crafted art forms. Opening Reception: June 7, 6-8pm
